A creative dessert shop in China’s capital is doing brisk business selling designer iPhone cookies and iPad cakes. But, just like the real deal, the shop owner says she has to worry about knock-off products. Beijingers go through crazes for western food, from pizzas to burritos to burgers, and now designer cakes are their new hot dogs. Chinese American Carol Chow is running the most fashionable custom made dessert shop ‘CCSweets’ in downtown Beijing. Carol has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art and Art History. She’s also a certified gemologist with a degree from GIA and a Chocolatier. Except for selling cup cakes in her shop, Chow spends most of her time dealing with customized orders, ranging from iPhones to cartoon figures to handbags—all in vivid patterns. iPhone cookies and iPad cakes are the most popular among the customers and the price tag of an iPhone biscuit starts from 228 yuan, or 35 US dollars. So I decided to merge the two and give you a lookbook. Of course you all know I love a good bargain shopping so there is nothing better than THIRFT SHOPPING!! I introduced to you all a while (one of my first videos ever) ago my love for GOODWILL! If you missed my last (a really long time ago) GoodWill Haul: youtu.be Here’s a recent haul… which consist of a few weeks of “Goodwill Hopping”. Most of the stuff are professional; appropriate for school, work, and a going out. I hope you guys will be inspired to thrift shop as well as give Goodwill a try if you haven’t! It’s shopping and doing good deed at the same time I know a lot of people will say EWWW!! Which I don’t blame you but with proper cleaning everything will be FINE! I soak clothes in detergent and water for 24 hours and in between I like to make a new “soaking” batch. And I always hang dry to make sure it does not shrink or damage due to “dry clean ONLY”. For shoes I lysol and air dry for a couple of days. Leather goods I like to wipe down with leather cleaner and then condition with leather lotion. A little hard work makes it worth it for the treasure and price! I’ve been ADDICTED to buying purses lately. usually I only buy one every few months when I want to change out OR if I have a special occasion/outfit to match with…..but I can’t help myself. around the holidays, I see SO many cute ones, I have to buy them all. yes, my credit card bill will give me a heart attack this month, but my bags will revive me
